Camper Inclusion Coordinator (Camper Services)
As the inclusion coordinator, you are part of the Leadership team assigned to provide support to campers with homesickness, behaviour difficulties, and developmental challenges. You will provide extra support for counsellors as a mediator for cabin conflict, and give assistance for counsellors during devotions and siesta as required. You may also be required to organize and lead sessions during staff training to prepare the staff for the summer. As part of the Leadership Staff, you must also respect and follow the rules and policies of Fraser Lake Camp. Some of the weekly tasks that you will perform are:
Encourage campers to seek leadership opportunities at camp
Assist counsellors with campers who are in need of extra assistance
Be the point person for counsellors with one-on-one campers
Support and spend time with campers who need time away from camp life, in the sensory room
Support campers who need additional support and help to come up with creative solutions to help ensure every camper as a safe and inclusive camp experience
Contact parents during pre-camp
Provide activities for campers who are in need of one-on-one attention
Assist the Program Directors with the set up and running of theme dinners, special events, tuck, etc. if needed
Participate in camp activities such as campfire, chapel, wide game etc.
Be available to staff members when they inform you if campers have missed an activity session and follow up with that camper
Help during the assigned times in the camp office with answering/returning phone calls
Assist with serving banquet dinner
Collect and document notes on camper traits through campbrain that will be used for future years
Assist the Program Director(s) on the final morning with set up and running the final slideshow
Assist in supervising and leading camp programming for campers who remain at camp during change-overs
Light cleaning duties as required
