Dining Hall & Adult Volunteer Coordinator
As the Recreation, Volunteer and Leadership Coordinator, you are part of the Leadership Staff team responsible for leading, training, and supporting the adult volunteers at FLC, as well as supporting the Director and Staff Services Coordinator in the planning and implementing of staff/volunteer leadership building, mentorship and community building .This will require helping to plan, implement and evaluate team building and community building exercises as well as Icebreakers and mentorship programs for staff. You will also help with the volunteer onboarding process- communicating with adult volunteers before they arrive to ensure they have submitted all necessary paperwork, and have been provided training materials. Once onsite, you will orient the volunteers to camp, offering them a tour, support and training related to the area they are volunteering. Check in with volunteers daily. You will support the LEAD program participants in their daily dish duty and will assist with camper laundry as needed.
As part of the Leadership Staff, you must also respect and follow the rules and policies of Fraser Lake Camp and be willing to be adaptable as you support the day to day operations of camp. Some of the weekly tasks that you will perform are:
Help to plan, implement and evaluated programs and trainings for staff and volunteers
Assist the youth volunteers in daily activities such as doing dishes after meals, and ensuring the camp is clean, help the volunteers do camper laundry as needed.
Provide mentorship, support and guidance to volunteers and staff.
Plan, implement and evaluate inclusive and engaging special events and activities for youth volunteers such as overnights and other programming at your discretion
Help the Director and Assistant Director with the onboarding and orientation of adult volunteers
Lead and participate in camp activities such as campfire, chapel, morning watch and wide game with campers, volunteers, and staff
Lead large group games and activities with the program coordinators
Provide each volunteer with a letter stating the tasks completed and volunteer hours given, signed by the director, prior to the last day of the camp session
